Currently, Expats in the Netherlands get the tax advantage for 8 years but the Government wants to reduce this advantage to 5 years, starting 1 January 2019! If we do not take action this limit will be settled as well for EXPATS who already have a confirmation for 8 years.
What is the 30% facility? If Expats come to work in the Netherlands, they are possibly confronted with extra costs, so-called extraterritorial costs. Expat’s employer may grant a free (untaxed) reimbursement for the extraterritorial costs that incur. Expats employer may also provide these employees with 30% of wage, including reimbursement, tax-free. This facility is known as the 30%-facility. For this, it is not necessary to prove that expenses have been incurred.
What is your opinion about the limitation of the 30% facility for Expats?
- Yes, I agree! After 5 years all Expats should pay the same taxes as we all do. (33%, 4 Votes)
- I partly agree! as of 2019 new Expats should get a 30% facility for 5 years, but Expats holding a permission for 8 years should keep it (33%, 4 Votes)
- No, I do not agree! All Expats should be eligible for 8 years. (33%, 4 Votes)
